Belated Riding Lesson Write-Up

Weekend Wrap-Up

Friday saw us doing some stuff around the house and watching some back episodes of TV shows. Then some time on WoW.
Saturday was a LOT of stuff around the house, some shopping (including garden stuff), then dinner and movie. We went to see Kingdom of Heaven. It is LONG (duh). There were a lot of middies in the audience (about 1/3-1/2 of the group was midshipmen). We got 2 free comics. Regarding the movie: some very nice horses, some very nicely done effects, good script, good characterization of most of the characters. Nice scenery. No 'jump out and grab you' anachronisms. Java wondered if Orlando Bloom will ever get a movie where his hands are clean the whole time. All in all I really liked it.
Sunday went to the barn and worked briefly with Echo on manners in her stall. Then went to a shop to have some work done on my chaps, then home to do more yard work (the juniper is temporarily tamed, beat back the blackberry bush again, etc.). Java had done a LOT of work in my absense. We then went to his parents house for a family get together and stopped on the way home to see my friend B who is currently living in FL. Saw some people I don't get to see enough of and had a nice visit.
This morning found some stuff to drool over on the web (need to see how much $ we will be spending on getting some work on the house done before I go too crazy) but there are some nice things out there. *sigh* Need to become independently wealthy.
